The Vulture

I stood looking into the eyes of the vulture Glaring at me so intently Piercing my heart As if his eyes were an arrow lit afire Twas the enemy I saw Stomping his prey As he starred at me With such intensity I stood and I watched As he succumbed to the natural instinct to crush his victim I stood frozen in the midst of time Searching for a conclusive understanding I was observant of the realities of nature Yet understanding that this vulture was almost within the grasp of my soul Just a short distance from where I stood The enemy, I came to understand Was close enough to me that I could see him crush the bones of his captured being Chills entered my existence However, only for a moment A sudden feeling of comfort covered my skin and penetrated my existence It was then that I knew I could not be touched I was protected The blanket of my faith wrapped tightly around my mind, my heart, and my soul The Creator in all His splendor My true protection from the enemy....
